Don’t bother looking for any advertising disclosures because I don’t need them (ok, there is JUST one – please see my Quick Word about Deciem below). I don’t get free stuff, press samples or swag. I don’t have Google ads on this site tracking your clicks and targeting you with ads, so if you like what you see I urge you to visit my COACHING page and hire me to be your coach! Or become a MEMBER. I pay for stuff with my own money. I’m not an industry insider. I’m here because I want to help others cut through the murky world of online skincare and get some good honest feedback.

I will endeavour to hold all Skincare Heidi Members to this same standard (although I won’t stop others from posting filtered pics of themselves it is highly discouraged, and I won’t be doing it). I reserve the right to delete anything posted to this site that is misleading, confusing or makes unsupported claims. I also won’t tolerate bullies or misinformation, although banter and healthy debate is invited. I cannot provide guarantees, however I can lend my 25+ years of learning and curiosity.

karma pledge? what's that? HOW MUCH?

 

This site is in memoriam of my good friend Adrienne Watson. Whenever I start to lose perspective thinking about my routine or my flaws, I remember her and remind myself of the women living on the street who don’t get to wash their faces. Adrienne, I miss you.

The Skincare Heidi Karma Pledge is my way of making this site about more than Skincare. It's also my way of making us all accountable to each other by identifying who is ready to make a commitment to themselves and to being a part of this community.

Membership is by donation to a women’s shelter or other charity of your choice.

Minimum $10/£6 please. Don’t know where to donate? Get inspired by our KARMA PAGE!

Please affirm your donation in your membership application along with a link to your beneficiary. Time can be volunteered in lieu of money.

If you would like to dedicate your membership to someone please include her or his name in your application as well – this could be in memory of someone special but could also be anyone who has inspired you to care for yourself.

BEFORE YOU FILL OUT YOUR REGISTRATION PLEASE FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH OUR GUIDELINES for membership:

• Your online registration with your full name and email.

• An affirmation of donation. I would love to add your donation to our KARMA PAGE so it would be great to have a link I can share. You can also let me know if you choose to dedicate your donation.

• You can choose a display name for your profile if you prefer to remain anonymous. Otherwise I will assign you a user name based on your first name and last initial. This name will show up on your comments and profile.

• Proof of personhood. I mean it; I need to know that you are a genuine person. Send me a letter. A picture of you in a public place. A picture of you with a newspaper. Follow my page on FaceBook (Skincare Heidi). Drop by for a cup of tea. However you do it, I want to know that you are real! Trolls and fake profiles will be immediately deleted from the group.

• Membership conveys no statutory rights and may be discontinued at any time.

* A quick word about Deciem and gifting

I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t been lucky enough to receive a gift from Deciem in recognition of my status as a top contributor in a certain  Facebook Fan Group (which I am no longer a part of). That was when I realised that I had the opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of others. If I had known I was going to start this project I would have declined, but it’s too late now. I was able to choose my own products which were all products I had used previously and paid for. And then, because they were unable to send me one of the products I requested they offered me a bottle of CAIS. So yes, I used that bottle. This has been the one and only time that I will have to disclose any freebies.
